Anyone that has played Mob of the Dead long enough knows that the amount of time one can remain in Afterlife mode can vary for certain reasons. For example, if you're zapping allot (RightTrigger) or say a zombie hits your ghost, the Afterlife timer will drain faster. However, when repeating the same route in every game, there's something else that can drain it faster and I just can't figure it out with any certainty. Let me elaborate. If I use the Afterlife box in front of the warden's office, half the time, I have just enough time to turn the electricity on at the following "Volt" boxes shown in the video and list below:
- Rope holding Master Key
- Main Gate to Warden's Office
- Speed Cola
- Cell door at opposite end of that hallway (Michigan Hallway)
- The Gondola
- Electric Cherry
You may wonder, why would I want to do all these in one go anyway? Its just an effort to conserve number of Afterlifes in single player. I can do all these in one go if I use brief zaps to power them up, don't miss any jumps, or waste juice zapping zombies. However, if I keep to the three things I've pointed out above, sometimes I run out of Afterlife faster than others and end up aborting my attempt to get them all so I don't die. Initially, I thought that it drains faster when zombies are in the immediate proximity of my body sitting on the floor but the time can run out quicker even if none of them are near. Then a friend suggested that the more time your ghost floats in the air may be the reason but, even if I miss a few jumps, part of the time I can still make it when other times I can't. I don't believe it's a bug in the game either. There's a reason the game does it and I was hoping someone on here has figured it out with 100% certainty.
The content of this video would be best described as me running around as fast as I can in Afterlife mode to turn on power in various locations for about 40 to 50 seconds. Its intended to not only show the route taken but where each of the boxes I've listed above are located. Especially since players that are new to this map are still acclimating themselves to its layout. However, now that I think about it, it might help the players that know where everything is like the back of their hand as well. To be completely honest, I didn't know that it was named the Michigan hallway until I needed to describe where it was above. I've been having so much fun with Mob of the Dead, I'm willing to wager that I have accumulated more hours playing this map than 90% of our community. lol
